there is a picnic spot near palacode its somewhere beween belrampati and palacode the place is called dhollakaadhu a place full of wonderful rare rocks having cave like formations in the shape of ears i visited dhollakaadhu as a school student in 1977
U feel divine in shiva temple which is near police station in palacode.chinnar dam is near by palacode. it is nice to see. A place called dhollakadhu is a wonderful place full of rocks and small mountains. And one more dam is also there to visit near belrampati.
Lots of good humans are here.this is the only city Hindus and Muslims are living together.very big PUDUR MARIYAMMAN festival celebrating on Febrary month 5 days.that time more than 2 lacks peoples will be in the city.
"gandhi ashram" an orphanage home is in kadamadai, which is 3 kms away from palacode. more than 50 children are there. A famous, peaceful anjaneyar temple is there.during special days, we can visit these places.
Palacode seems to have grown leaps and bounds since i left the town in the late eighties. It used to be a sleepy town in those days with a small floating population of educated outsiders due to the sugar mills there. Ofcourse the temples there like Pudhur mariamman pattalamman koil mallapuram shiva temple old bus stand shiva temple pulla koil were the centre of crowds during local thiruvizhas ,now whenever i make a short visit to these places ols memories come rushing in a plashback but now it is not the old palacode its a town like any other in tamilnadu
